The Queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she's at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen's triumphant return.

This book gave me so many feels, guys. SO MANY FEELS.

I’ll make this part spoiler-free, but be warned that the discussion above is FULL of spoilers, and I really don’t recommend watching it unless you’ve read the book and want to discuss it with me in more detail.

The things I liked:

It’s a lot more fast-paced compared to Heir of Fire. This one, so many epic things happened in the second half of the book that I think my mind didn’t stop palpitating until an hour after reading. That’s how edge-of-your-seat-great it was. The action and the kick-assery and bad-assery were so abundant that I may have foamed in my mouth (foaming in mouth acted in the discussion video, so make sure not to miss that one out).

Manon becomes more interested (I forgot to discuss this, heh). Heir of Fire, I couldn’t really give a shit about here, but here, I actually looked forward to how she will be handling the situation even though her team wasn’t very certain about their bosses’ agendas.

THE MYSTERY! THE MYSTERY AND CONSPIRACIES DEEPEN! I may or may not have gasped at certain points and then looked at the sky wondering why I did not think of such a thing. You genius, Maas you!

THAT GRAVEYARD SCENE. Tears were shed in that scene.

– Nesryn. She’s a cool gal, I want to see more of her in the next book!

Things I didn’t like:

Chaol. Good lord, man, what happened to you?!

– Aedion. He felt a little OOC here… from a serious character, he was sidelined and somehow made up to be some sort of comic relief? Which was WEIRD.

I super like this installment and I CAN’T wait for the 5th book!!! <3
